Accomplishments of today

  • Beat level 480 of Candy Crush
  • Cleaned the liter box
  • smiled
  • did I mention I beat level 480 of Candy Crush, been stuck on it for over a week. I should be more concerned with the amount of time/money I've invested in this silly game.
SOOOO many accomplishments and it's not even 8:30?!?!? what an incredibly productive day. Oh, I also improved my Anti-Valentine's day spodify playlist. It's almost perfect. Give it a listen if you too will be miserable on V-Day. Candy Crush gets my mind off of the loneliness of the next few days leading up to <33333333333333 day. booooo.

Masterchef Junior

How and why am I obsessed with Masterchef Junior? Probably the simplest reason is, well, Gordon Ramsey. I'm used to seeing him yelling at dysfunctional adults who can't get their acts together. He is so so so sweet to these kids. None of this.

Also, a little bit of it is jealousy. These kids are brilliant. They are 8-12 and know exaaaactly what they want to do for the rest of their lives?!?! What?!??? HOW?!? I don't understand and I never will, but good for them. They have made sushi, made crazzzzy dishes. So incredibly incredible. I can make mac and cheese from the box... that's a start. They are inspiring. I should start cooking, but I say I should start a ton of things... But seriously, I should start to cook

So my grammy predictions were.....

Terrible. Just awful. When Beyonce didn't win, everyone (who was awake, so not me) was like 'whhhhhhaaaat'.

Probably 1/20th of the people watching the Grammy's have no clue who beck was and crucified him for winning. If you've never heard one Beck song in your lifetime, you are not living right. And to say he's not deserving is silly. Everyone nominated was INCREDIBLE. I'm not going to lie, when I heard he won Album of the Year, I was as shocked as most people. "He's still alive?" "He's still relevant?" "He's still making music". All the same questions I also asked when I saw Tom Jones, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga perform. But, I thought back to 2010 (I think it was, too lazy to look it up), when Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" won for album of the year. Everyone had the same reaction. Who? Why? How??!?!?! If you've not listened to Arcade Fire, especially that album, here are a few links. I've saved you the trouble. http://vimeo.com/59951510

But knowing myself 5 years ago or whenever that was, I was confused why Maroon 5 or The Jonas Brothers didn't win Album of the Year. When I got over my confusion and anger why Nick Jonas's ballet "Love Bug" didn't score any Grammy wins, LET ALONE, any noms,  I listened, relecutantly I may add, to The Suburbs. Life changing and shaped my taste and love music (note to self, Jonas Brothers are in another category about "Music". A place only held in my heart by the JBros and my cat). So tomorrow I am going to listen to Beck's album "Morning Phase" and I suggest you do the same. I'm not saying that you will love it or it will be life-changing (who knows if I will even like it), but push yourself to listen to something you'd never listen to and who knows what happiness may lie ahead.

On a complete separate note, I need to put in a picture of Rihanna in her princess dress, just so I will never forget what my wedding dress must look like.... well I need a little more pink, but I'm sure that's an easy fix.

Come on Ri-Ri, why would you do this to me?

Kayne is da bomb

While watching the Grammy's red carpet, I shake at how beautiful and perfect these people are. Dave Grohl, still killing it. Very frightening that he's my mommy's age. Iggy's dress is incredible, but her hair. She's talking about taking risks, she 100% did with that hair. Her dress. Did I already say that? Also, Kayne was so bored with Ryan Seacrest, it was perfect. Kayne know's he's a God. It's perfect, actually everything about this night is actually perfect. This is so rough. I just want to sleep and watch The Walking Dead, and the Grammy's and Girl's. What is a girl to do? My life is so incredibly tough.... I really don't think I'm going to be able to say awake. Comcast, you are killing me. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman look incredible. I may be the only one who still watches American Idol, but I'm okay with it. Okay, this blog post was terrible, but I am going to sleep. Goodnight world. More on the Grammy's tomorrow.

Minon Meyham

When is Universal going to come up with a movie with just minons? Also, why is minon not in the dictionary on google. I'm so entirely disappointed right now. No, I do not mean minor, I mean minon. This post is just a dedication to the beautiful photoshop skills of my fellow interweb users. Here are some of my favorite little trouble makers I've found online.

No picture of the purple minons. They have legitimately given me nightmares.

Grammy Whammy

The Grammy's are Sunday. What a lovely night for dress watching and criticizing (although I know nothing about fashion) and laugh and cry. Easily my second favorite awards show, only behind the Dundies. All hail Michael Scott.

I'm going to go through some of the categories and make my predictions. Here we gooo.

kats=kardashians

Today, I moved. My mom is engaged and we moved into his house. Such a quick decision on my mom's part, but this house is big and beautiful. Plus, they got my sister and I an expense as anything hot tub to help "adjust us to the move". Whatever, I am a-oh-kay with it! While I was work today, the movers came and moved all of our furniture out of our old house. My cat however, was more resistant than me when I am asked to share my Girl Scout cookies. We couldn't find her. Our, now old, house was relatively small. Cats are some sneaky animals, that's for sure. Up until today, I could have sworn I was a cat whisperer. Maybe I'm losing my talents. Meow, meowwww. I'll keep practicing. So0o0o I pretty much over reacted and assumed my cat grew wings and thumbs to open our two front doors and fly away as the majestic creature she is. However, we came back around 11, only to find her shimmying her way through the living room. So many tears for nothing. In conclusion, cats are like the Kardashians, they are hairy mythical creatures that you love and cry over.

Dancing Through Life (or Through Ikea)

Today was a great day, but thinking about it, every day is. I may be depressed, sad, feeling like poop, but I am healthy and alive and that's really all I can ask for. All of the other things are minor. My weight, whether or not I finished my work that day, whether or not I passed the level I'm stuck on in candy crush (479 if you're wondering). These are all things that will not matter today, tomorrow, or the next. They can be modified and changed because every day is a new day.

I was exhausted today, per usual, but I didn't let that stop me from going out. I went to Ikea with my mom and sister, dancing and singing Lego House by Ed Sheeran to them, as they walked away in horror pretending I was a stranger. I look around that maze of a store and have hope. One day I will afford that walk in closet. One day I will have that bedroom set in my own place. One day I will decorate my children's bedroom with only the coolest of things. Walking around that monstrosity reminds you that this sadness and funk is only temporary. There will be a day that these battles with myself and my happiness will be worth it. At that point, I'm not saying things will be easy, because they won't. I will hopefully, however, find peace within myself. Just strange that walking through Ikea can remind you and inspire you to continue, but I take it in stride. These triggers keep me going through the best and the worst of the days and makes me look forward to the future. I am not stuck.

Let It Gooooo Let It Goooooooooo

Day 2:

In life, it's the little things that turn a day into a good day, a week into a good week, and a month into a fantabulous spectacular one. Girl Scout cookies can be that little spark. For me today, as silly as this sounds, I ate about five tag-alongs and had the energy and excitement to get out of bed and put on some Frozen and Beyonce and just dance. It is incredible what getting out of bed and smiling, singing and pretending you are Britney Spears can do for you. January, I made excuse on why I shouldn't get out of bed after getting home from work. "I'm tired." "I have work tomorrow". "I just went through a bad breakup"--I milked that one a little longer than I should have. I'm using this blog to get out of bed, see people I haven't seen in awhile. Call family I don't call on a daily basis and make them smile, which in turn will make me smile.

Every day is a new day. Look in the mirror and smile. Call someone and tell them you love them. Wake up 10 minutes earlier to pet your cat, or chat with your sister before your days start. The little things add up, trust me. Blast some tunes. Put on Fleetwood Mac or Fergie, whatever your style, and smile. Watch Jimmy Fallon too, that is always a sure fix to any slump. And always remember to "Let It Gooooo Let It Goooooooooo".

Superbowl Funday

DAY 1:

Blog Challenge here I come! Closing my eyes before going to sleep and I forgot to post. This is acceptable Week 4 of the challenge, but Week 1, post 1? I gotta step up my game.  I'm going to use this blog to document my baby steps to being happier and healthier. These baby steps can be as simple as going to the gym, or showering **which is very unlikely for me to do** or as extreme as becoming a vegan. Who knows what this month will bring, but I'm excited to step outside my comfort zone and do some cool new things!

Because I'm super sleepy, and getting 8 hrs of sleep should be on my list of little things to do, I'm going to keep this next part short. Today, I went to the gym, CRAZY, i know right? But just getting out of bed on a weekend is a big deal for me. Usually I read, sleep, watch Netflix, pet my cat for an hour and repeat. After the gym (and a quick tan), I went home and showered. I then went to my new neighbor's Superbowl party. Another seemingly small, but huge deal for the introvert (well not exactly and introvert, but 9 out of 10 times I'd rather stay home with my 17 seasons of the simpsons). I've never met these neighbors and of course I would've rather stay home and NOT EVER watch football, but it was a great time and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Eventually, these small steps will add up (knock on wood) and I'll get out of this silly rut. Day by day everyone. Happy blogging everyone and see your beautiful faces again tomorrow. Goodnight world.
